Funny Girl

I tell ya, there is nothing better than a happy baby. Surely it's the best if you have a FUNNY baby! I said to Aunt Sandy the other day, I would be afraid to have another child because I just know he/she would probably totally different than Kyra(meaning most likey a hellion!). This past month she's learned how to clap and put on the cheesiest smile afterwards because she is so proud of herself, she loves to growl at you, and she is getting braver everyday with taking steps. The other day she came walking in the room pushing the laundry basket-I couldn't believe it! She does it all on her own though, if you try to get her to do it, she won't have that. All in due time,my friends.
I am so proud of her though, she is really coming into her own and becoming such a little person. She has he best facial expressions and she will be more than happy to show you where your nose is maybe even the inside of your nose as well. hehe She is not as shy at the moment either which is pretty cool! I know it makes the Grandmas feel better! In just a little over 2 weeks Kyra will be 1! I still can't believe it! Time really does fly when you are having fun!

Almost there!!!!!

Well folks we are almost there! Just a little under 2 months for Kyra's 1st Birthday!!! I am so excited for her and cannot believe how much she she can do already and how qucikly she is learning and figuring things out! I have already been planning and thinking about this day for a while! Of course, Nick thinks I am crazy, how hard is it to throw a party together, right? Right! He's a man what does he know about details and planning all that good stuff. hehe
I couldn't decide which picture I wanted this time so you are getting both. The one makes me think of Lily Tomlin in the big oversized rocking chair, saying-AND THAT'S THE TRUTH-PTHHHH! Can't remember the name of the show at the moment-motherhood makes you very forgetful! The other picture, I just had to buy that hat, I thought it was the cutest and will come in handy soon with this wonderful weather we have. Hopefully Kyra will have a backyard to run around in soon and jump in the leaves with that hat on! hehe I say run because I believe she will be there in no time -lucky me-since she started taking steps this week! How exciting and scary all at once. I will not be posting any pictures of first bruises or first knot on the head!

Lights Camera Action--WIGGLES!

This past Friday, Kyra and I went to see The Wiggles-if you have small children you know exactly who I am talking about, if not basically its a kids tv show with lots of annoying songs you can't help but sing all day long with these 4 guys from Australia and a few other characters. Kyra's favorite is Dorothy the Dinosaur, who has this little giggle that makes Kyra go nuts, she points to the tv and makes these weird noises whenever she is on. Anyway, everyone said she was too young to go to something like that and I am sure she is, I mean obviously she won't remember it and doesn't understand it but when she heard the first song there that she hears every morning-her eyes lit up and she looked at me with the biggest smile on her face and started rocking back and forth and it gave me the best feeling ever-Kyra and Mommy out having a fun day! Luckily I was the only one in my row and it was dark so no one could see the tear rolling down my cheek becuase I was SO happy for her having fun and for all the "first's" of things she is about to embark on. What a wonderful thing that I get to see and share and be with her for all the wonderful discoveries she is about to make-I am realizing Motherhood really is the most rewarding job you could ever have and we haven't even made it to year 1 yet. Well I better go to Target and stock up on tissue becuase there goes that tear rolling down the cheek thing again:)

Movin On Up

Well, its been quite some time since my last and first post! I found that new motherhood and trying the find the time to do something for yourself don't actually exist!:) Well they do, but you usually weigh your options and taking a minute to rest usually wins over. ha
Kyra is 8 1/2 months old now and within the last week and a half she has done alot of new things she has never done-she started crawling first, and now she can sit up by herself and she is finally cutting a tooth! I have been saying that forever, hehe, but she really is cutting a tooth! It is so much fun to watch her discover new things and figure them out and smile at everything because she is so excited. Now I really don't know when my next post will be since she is on the move!
I must say it is such a joy to raise Kyra and take care of her and watch over her, except for that feeling in the pit of your stomach whenever you are not near her, other than that there is nothing better than your baby looking at you and smiling because she is so happy to see you!

Ahh, New Motherhood

Greetings Fellow Mommies,
This is is my first blog and my first baby so cut me some slack:) I'm starting this blog for a few reasons, I have lots to say about being a new mom, my daughter and just about life in general and I thought this might be a good way to get it off my chest. Hopefully if someone reads this they will take comfort in knowing there is someone going through the same things they are, maybe get a good laugh at some things I have to say-that tends to happen when I am telling a story-or just plain enjoy reading it. Well back to the subject at hand-New Motherhood...
I must say no matter how many books you read and all the advice other mothers give you, nothing really can prepare you for the start of motherhood. It is the most instantaneous change you will ever face in your life and once you get the hang of it, it will be the MOST welcome change you could ever have! I love the fact that I can look in my daughters eyes and know that I would do absolutely anything for her, I ask myself daily-how did I get so lucky to create something so beautful. You will never know love, true love, until you have a child. You may think you love somone so much and you do but you'll never know how much until you look in the eyes of your child.
